On December 22, the eruption of Anak Krakatau volcano in Indonesia triggered a tsunami that hit coastal towns along the Sunda Strait between Java and Sumatra. The number of casualties is rising. The Indonesian disaster management agency is leading the response.
The CDAC Network, its members and partners have a number of tools for use by those responding to disasters, such as that currently impacting communities in the Sunda Strait, to ensure communication and community engagement is integrated into the disaster response plan.
